Thanks for the update! Could you please confirm the version of Illustrator you're currently using and share your operating system details? Also, do you remember which version of Illustrator was used to originally create the affected file?
To rule out any user account-specific issues, please try testing the same file in a new local admin user account and let us know if the issue still occurs. Here’s how you can create one:

Also, it would be really helpful if you could share a short screen recording showing the slowness and the steps you’re performing when the issue appears.
