This, using percentages of black, does not keep the percentages when recolored with a Pantone swatch.

This, converted to grayscale and using percentages of gray, does keep the percentages when recolored with a Pantone swatch.

You mean assign spot colors to those greyscale objects?

Try Edit > Edit colors > Recolor artwork (watch out for the color scaling options which are in the very tiny arrow right to the new color swatch in the dialog.

Hello Monika. Thank you very much. I meant to substitute all the black percentages at once. GustavoSin título-1.png

Create a color group with your Pantone color in the Swatches panel.

Select the objects that are converted to grayscale and choose Recolor Artwork.

Click the Color group and OK

If you don't convert  to grayscale first you will not keep the percentages.

Ton

Good method, faster than mine, how ever the result doenst mantain the original values as I noted, it makes  minor changes on the values, so this is a very interesting challenge, how to convert keeping the original values intact

So what exactly do you do? Do you choose Edit > Edit Colors > Convert to Grayscale before using Recolor Artwork?

Can you share an example document where it does not work?
