Auto-adjusting formatting when working with variables

Hi all,

I'm working with variables in Illustrator to design question-and-answer cards for a board game. Some questions are only one line long, while others are two lines.

Is there a way to auto-format, so that one-line questions center on the shape and two-line questions fill the space better? Attached are some examples.

Thanks!Screenshot 2025-01-02 at 8.19.39 PM.png

Are they area texts?

You can then center the text in the area vertically.

But this would need to be applied to the text object and will then happen for all the texts. There is no other option.

Oh, good idea. Currently they are just text boxes, but I'll give that a try.
