I have an EPS that I downloaded from a site and I'm looking to make some modifications. There is a complex path of DNA that have some function on it so that when I color the path white, it shows on a color background, but when it is black, it is invisible. Example 2 is when the DNA is white, and example is when it is black. I would like to make it black and visible. any help with this.
OK, Found it. It was a transparency setting (Dodge) on each path. Man, that was not fun but thanks for the assistance!

Does the DNA strand have some kind of a transparancy setting applied to it (such as "screen" or "lighten")? You can select the DNA strand and check its settings in the appearance panel.

While I do not see any, if I color the DNA medium gray, the DNA not on the green background is medium grey but the DNA above the background is dark green. I must be missing where this is set and am really struggling to find it.

The Appearance palette would show if a selected object had any transparency as well as any associated blending modes applied to it (such as multiply, screen, etc). I wonder if the background has a transparency effect applied to it and even if the DNA strand is sitting behind it in the object stacking order.
