I honestly can’t believe Adobe removed or broke the Command + Option + drag shortcut to resize the brush. This gesture has been part of the workflow for years — it’s fast, intuitive, and essential for anyone who actually works with these tools daily.
Now it’s gone or simply doesn’t respond after the latest update, and it completely slows down professional work. We pay for a premium subscription, not to lose the basic tools that made the software efficient.
Please bring back the Command + Option shortcut or give us a clear way to re-enable it. Don’t fix what isn’t broken — this shortcut is muscle memory for thousands of users.

That's a Photoshop command. I don't remember it ever working that way in Illustrator.
Which version did you use that had that feature?

Hi @Cesar5EF6,
Thanks for reaching out and sharing your feedback. Could you please confirm which version of Illustrator you're currently using (the latest is 30.0) and whether this shortcut worked for you in any earlier version? If possible, please share a short screen recording showing the behavior in both versions by testing it in Illustrator 29.8.2 as well. You can install that version alongside 30.0 to compare the results.
Looking forward to your update.
Abhishek

In Illustrator there is a customisable shortcut to increase or decrease the size/diameter of certain brushes and various other tools (e.g. Calligraphic Brush, Blob Brush tool, Eraser tool, Symbol tools).
It can be located and modified in the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog (Tools section).
