Brush Stroke Setting Issue

Hi everyone,

I can't seem to figure this out.

I wanted to have my stroke to be in a specific brush when I do my strokes. 
Not change them after I do my stroke. 
I want a stylized stroke (not the default line).

How do I do this? It wasn't like this before.

In the Appearance panel go to the menu and uncheck "New Art Has Basic Appearance"
