brush texture infill in Illustrator

I am trying to create a brush texture infill in Illustrator (see attached image). But it seems like brush texture can only be created for stroke. Is there any way to achieve brush texture infill?

Pint it, scan it and then vectorize it (or leave it as pixels). Then Apply the shape to it as a clipping mask.
