Hi,

I am new to Adobe and just subscribed to their Illustrator plan. I am starting my design career with Illustrator and only have an old mac (Mac OS High Sierra 10.13.6)

The issue that I have is that I don't have an installer of Illustrator (the Nov 2019 release 24.x) and I don't know how to get it. I don't know who to contact, and don't really trust websites that offer this installer outside the Adobe platform. Is there a way to get the installer directly from Adobe? I can't find it.

Kind regards,

Pablo

Pablo,

Here is CC 2019, the page covers CC 2020 - CC 2018,

https://prodesigntools.com/tag/ddl/page/2

Yoy can go back and forth to other pages to get to other versions.

Thank you Jacob,

I just found out that my Mac is compatible till the CC 2020 version of Illustrator. Is there a way to download this CC 2020 version of Illustrator? On the prodesigntools website, I read that they don't have it. They say that I have to contact Customer Care and get it from them. I can not seem to find a way to contact Customer Care. Do you know how to get this version of Illustrator?

Pablo,

After trying in vain to find a way through to an actual Customer Care contact link to post here, I believe we need help with this from Jim, @ProDesignTools

The @ part is an alert hopefully seen soon.

Hello, that's correct – Creative Cloud 2020 was the last CC release to support macOS 10.13 High Sierra. And indeed, there have been mixed results when trying to get it from Customer Service. The last time it worked with some repeated persistence and requesting a supervisor.

Adobe should still be giving out CC 2020 installers for exactly the reasons you mention... Many paying customers have older Macs which cannot upgrade their operating system nor run the latest CC release. It would be a shame to have to cancel their plans or be required to buy a new computer because of that.

You should be able to reach Customer Care via live online chat here:

https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?rghtup=autoOpen

(Note that Adobe does not do support by email, so beware of scammers and answering anyone who sends you a private message via this forum.)

Alternatively, you could go with the Creative Cloud 2019 release instead, as Jacob mentions. It definitely works with High Sierra and fortunately is still available to everyone to download here.

Hi Jacob and Jim,

Thank you guys for the links. After trying for a while I found the chatbot on the Adobe website. The chatbot could not answer my questions and it redirected me to someone from Adobe in the live chat. The customer service asked my phone number and they called me to work the issue. They could not give me the official CC 2020, but instead recomended me as you did to get the CC 2019 instead from the prodesigntools website. So I did, and installed it. It works great! Now I can start designing.

It would have been easier if Adobe still oficially supported older Macs, but with this workaround it is still OK till I upgrade my Mac.

Many thanks and have a nice weekend!

Pablo
