Can I hide a part of an object behind a group that has no background ?

Hello, 

 

the design I want in the forefront doesn't have any background,

but I want a line to cross it under and disappear behind the first object,

what should I do, please ?

I'm not quite sure what exactly you want to have, but it sounds like knockout groups could solve it.

So you assign a white fill (or any color) and give only that fill an opacity of 0%.

Then group it with the things you want to hide.

The group then needs to be a knockout group.

It is not hiding it, but the Eraser tool can erase the part of the line you don't want.
