Can't locate PSD files in AI

I just upgraded to the All Apps plan from the Photograpgy Plan (previously I was just using PS).  When using Illustrator I can't locate any of my PSD files.  All my PSD files are saved to my Creative Cloud account and are accessible from PS, but not from AI.   I upgraded so I can use my PSD files in AI, but I can't get access to them.

Are they Photoshop Cloud files or are they just stored in the synchronized folder?

They are PSD files stored in the Creative Cloud. I didn’t know there was a specific type of PSD for the cloud. How is a cloud file differentiated?

There is a Photoshop cloud document type with the extension .psdc You can view the location in the Illustrator Links panel and in the CC App under Files.

There are also ways to save a copy of a Photoshop .psd document to the cloud by saving them in the Creative Cloud files folder on your machine.
