Can you please open the Preferences > General and reset the Warnings?
Also: check out the Layers panel to see what is selected.

Weird. Which tool are you using? I can't see it in the video - it's not the selection tool.
Does the same happen when you create a new file?

Hello, I have the same problem. I create a text, then I try to move it with the selection tool, nothing happens; cmd+T, nothing; it moves if I use the arrow keys on the keyboard. Also, I cannot edit the current text, it won't let me. Cannot duplicate it. I restarted the software, my computer, I did the latest update, nothing. What's interesting is that I can create shapes and move them around, and when I select the text with them, it moves with them.
Mac, M1, Ventura 13.5, 16gb, latest version of AI, monthly subscription.

Is "select text by path only" turned on in Preferences > Type?

In Illustrator -> Settings -> Selection & Anchor Display, there is no such thing found

..but found it in "Type" -> "Type Object Selection by Path Only" that was checked, after unchecking it things went back to normal. Thank you!
