Can't see thumbnail previews of illustrator files

I am on a Mac.   OS-Sonoma.      I  just downloaded a bunch of ai. adobe stock files.   They all just have the ai logo and no thumbnail preview.   What can i do about this.   They are in my downloads folder and I need to see the previews.   Thanks.

What file format are they?

If EPS you are out of luck, because Sonoma doesn't support it anymore. You could hack earlier systems to show previews of EPS, but not Sonoma.

Save as .ai and turn on PDF compatible. That wlil make the file larger as it embeds a second copy of the file in PDF, but the Mac OS can use the PDF half to preview, but not the AI half.
