Hi,
I have previously made a logo with text around a circle with no problems. Top text was outside the circle, bottom text was insisde the circle.
I have tried to do the exact same thing but there are no handles to edit the text after typing on a path. Ican move it around the circle, or inside or out at all. I also cant see the highlighting over the text I have selected to change so never know which part of text I am at.
Can anyone please help with this?

Hi @leoh10567021,
Thanks for reaching out! I tried reproducing the issue on my end, and I was able to see the handles and highlight the text as expected when using the Type on a Path tool. To help me understand exactly what's happening in your case, could you please confirm the version of Illustrator you're using along with the details of your operating system?
Also, if you can share a short screen recording showing the full issue, from when you create the circle to how the text behaves, that would be really helpful for a clearer picture. It will allow me to pass on all the right details to the team if needed.
In the meantime, I recommend resetting your Illustrator preferences and checking if that helps resolve the issue. Here's how you can do that:

Just a heads-up, make sure to back up your preferences before resetting in case you want to restore them later.
Looking forward to your update!

Hello Abishek,
Thanks for getting back to me. Example video attached, did try to send a longer one but you can see I cant see where the handles are, took me 45mins to realize they were still there just not visible. Its really annoying and never used to do this. I have been using 2025 version but have also been trying the older ones upto 2022 and its the same across them all
Thanks
Leo

Hi @leoh10567021,
Thanks for the video and for sharing those details. I really appreciate you taking the time.
I'd suggest trying the helpful tip shared by @renél80416020, press Ctrl+H (or Cmd+H on Mac) to toggle the selection outlines.
Let me know if this resolves it or if you're still facing issues.
Looking forward to your update.

Far from it: Ctrl/Cmd+H is undoubtedly the most frequent undetected keyboard mishit: you try to use one of the surrounding letters and when it fails to work you try again, and forget all about the failed attempt so the mishit hits you back long after any connexion can be made.
It has been up many times, happening to countless victims, from New Heres to Community Experts.
