Hey, I am trying to save a file as .bmp but I get this error message. I am using different elements gathered from different .ai files, and saving as .jpeg is no problem. But when trying to save as .BMP (which i need) this problem appears. Anyone know what to do?

PS. I had some symbols in my project, and tried to break the link to see if that made any differences, but it did not. Using Illustrator 2024.

I'm not seeing this on a Mac.

Does it work with a new file and a simple shape?

Trying to find out if it is something general or file related.

It is file related, as creating a new empty file with simple shapes is saving correctly as .BMP files.

Did you use anything raster based in the file?

Placed a raster element?

Used raster based effects?

This could be a call to some Windows (system) library going wrong. Maybe you want to contact Customer Care. I have searched that error message, but could only find some ancient threads about it. https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html
