Canvas turns white after clicking 'Artboard' button on tool bar

Hi there
I've read lots of answers to similar issues, none of them however are fixing my issue.

  • My 'canvas' colour is fine if the artboard is not selected (1st Screenshot).
  • When I click the 'Artboard' button (2nd Screenshot).
  • The canvas turns white (3rd Screenshot)

I don't want it to turn white, it never did before.

Thanks in advance
Kind regards
Adam
