Is it my imagination or has the behavior of the pressure sensitive brush tool changed? When I edit a line - ie remove a point or smooth a line - other parts of the line change in ways I don't want. I've been using this tool to make art for a decade and this behaviour is new (and very frustrating).
Sorry to hear about this experience. I would request you to try the steps shared in this article (https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/illustrator-cc-crash-wacom-drivers.html) and check if it helps.
Also, try resetting Illustrator's preferences by following the steps shared in this article (https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/troubleshoot-preference-issues.html) and sharing your observations.
Disclaimer: Please note that resetting preferences will remove all custom settings, and Illustrator will launch with the defaults. You may take a backup of these settings from the location mentioned in the article.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thanks for your quick reply. I'm using a wacom tablet with the most up to date driver. The pressure sensitive brush works just fine. What I'm talking about is much more sublte. It's the behaviour that seems different and I'm wondering if you can confirm or deny whether the tool has been reprogrammed (similar to what happened several years ago when the options for setting accuracy and smoothing were changed, or shall I say dumbed down.)
Can you show screenshots - before & after?
I can't offer a before and after because I no longer have the previous version of Illustrator. The answer I'm looking for is Yes, Adobe made changes to the brush tool or No, Adobe did not change the brush tool.
