clicking on toolbar or other panels hides Illustrator

Is anyone else seeing this odd behaviour? It only happens when the application frame is disabled.

I have rebuilt preferences and reset Workspaces but it's still there.... Mostly!

Basic Toolbar is fine but Advanced is the issue.

Running Mac OS 14.1 but it was updated before this started happening. Same behaviour in Beta version too.

Stage Manager was the issue I thought but changing settings or switching off makes little difference.

Hi @derekwatson

I apologize for the inconvenience you're facing with Illustrator's behavior on macOS 14.1. It appears that this issue is related to changes in the macOS update.

We are aware of this problem, and a bug has been logged with Apple. Our team is actively working with them on resolving it.

In the meantime, a potential workaround is to enable the application frame. However, I understand that this might not be an ideal solution.

Additionally, you can upvote this issue on UserVoice (https://adobe.ly/47gDidc) to receive updates on its status and any potential fixes.

We appreciate your patience as we work to address this problem. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, please feel free to ask. Thank you for your understanding.

Best,
Anshul Saini

Thanks, certainly puzzling as it just seemed to pop up yesterday without any system setting changes

I wonder if this is related to another minor niggle in Illustrator... When opening a new file, the three window controls on the top left are hidden under the toolbar as if the window doesn't know the Toolbar is there... Dragging the window over and clicking Maximise then it works...
