Color intensity after adjusting grain and contrast disappearing

Hi!

I'm having trouble with keeping the color intensity on the page after adding grain and contrast to it. It looks so good after I've set the right amount of grain and contrast but then when I press OK and I have the main view up again, it's like the color was all drained from the page.

Anyone know how to fix it? A thousand thanks,

Ásdís

You are working in a CMYK file and this gets reflected.

Is the linked image in RGB color space? If so, it might work better to convert a copy of the original image to CMYK color space before adding the noise, changes to contrast, etc.
