I have run into an issue with the color picker that is only relevant to one of my AI files (document color mode = rgb).
In that file, when I have a vector shape selected, clicking another shape no longer takes its fill and stroke attributes, but instead a particular color of light blue (fill) and white (stroke). In color picker settings I have every single option selected.
I run into the same issue when I shift + click with the color picker, where it replaces my fill/stroke with that particular color of blue, not the color that I have clicked on.
I have already tried restarting Illustrator while pressing cmd + opt + shift. The color picker works as expected in other files and it was previously working just fine in this file.
Thank you for any ideas.
I have now been able to resolve this issue. A very low opacity rogue shape was stretched across part of my artboard and the color picker was picking up the properties of that shape (but surprisingly not the transparency, given that transparency was checked in the color picker, making the issue harder to diagnose).
