Dear all,

When running the new generating AI tool, my computer crashes (sending the computer to restart).  Any ideas on how to solve it? All drivers are up-to-date, Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 and Intel Core i9-14900KF

All the best,

Sergio

Thank you for your response and for being proactive in troubleshooting the issue, @sergiol92520501. Regarding your question about disabling the logs at a later stage, you don't need to worry about that. Enabling the logs using the provided command is a one-time action to collect the necessary information for troubleshooting. Once you've collected and shared the AI performance log with us, you can simply continue using Illustrator as usual without needing to disable anything manually.

I do not see any reasons why this should crash. Is the graphics card compatible with the specifications? https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/system-requirements.html#ai-on-the-desktop

Did you already reboot the system and reset the preferences?

Thanks. Yes, it is.  This crash only happens with Illustrator, the AI generator tool (Beta).  A few weeks ago, it happened the same with Camera Raw when actioning the Color sharpening tool. But that one was sporadic and for the last 2 weeks, it hasn't happened again.  But this one with Illustrator puzzles me because it happens always at the same point of the process, just before the tree options appear in the AI generator. Food for thought...

Hi @sergiol92520501,

I understand how frustrating it must be to experience crashes while using the Text to Vector Grpahic (Beta) Ai tool in Illustrator. Thank you for providing detailed information about your system specifications and the specific point in the process where the crash occurs.

To further investigate and address this issue, I recommend submitting the crash report as outlined in this article: Crash: Next Steps. Make sure to include the email address with which you are logged into the community forum. This will help our team track down the issue more efficiently.

Additionally, it would be helpful to share the AI performance log.

Here are the steps:

  • Close Adobe Illustrator > Launch Command Prompt > Paste the following command and hit Enter set AI_ENABLE_LOGS=1 && "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator 2024\Support
  • Launch Illustrator and start using Text to Vector, and the logs then shall be accessible at
    %appdata%\Adobe\Logs\Adobe Illustrator\28.0\Adobe Illustrator\AIPerformance.log
  • Upload this AIPerformance.log file to Google Drive/Dropbox and share a public download link here so that we can share it with the product team.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work towards a solution.

Best,

Anshul Saini

Thanks Anshul,

Will do.  The issue is that the crash happens before the system captures any log. Still I will try it.  How can I disable the logs at a later stage?

Before, I will change the power supply box.  I noticed that the system goes way up the power limit when activating the Text to vector (which it shouldn't?). I am hoping that a power box with more capacity may resolve the issue.

I believe there is something here very interesting for the AI illustrator developers.

I will let you know

It's also insightful that you're considering upgrading the power supply box, as unusual power consumption during the activation of the Text to Vector feature could indeed indicate a hardware-related issue. Hopefully, the upgrade will help resolve the problem.

Please keep us updated on your progress, and feel free to reach out if you have any further questions or concerns. We're here to assist you.

Thanks Anshul,

It did solve it. I upgrade it from 700w to 1000w.  Now it works.

Thanks for your help.
