Hi! I work as a pattern designer and I'm using illustrator and photoshop extensively. I also use inDesign for other print materials. Which computer do you recommend for it to cope with these programs?
Today I have a Mac Book Pro 8 Gb and the programs crash quite often for me 😞
Hi @karins3110573 8 GB RAM is not enough. That is the total installed RAM and some of that is used by the Mac OS, meaning you are under the recommended minimum requirements, hence why you are crashing.
After reviewing the system requirements from @Anubhav M I would advise you focus on the "recommended" system specs not the minimums.

Your experience would improve when you put more than the 8 Gb RAN into your computer.

Hello @karins3110573,
Thanks for reaching out. As suggested by Ton, increasing memory would be a good first step to improving performance, especially when using multiple apps. You may also want to refer to the System Requirements for each app and try to match or exceed the recommended requirements for them:
Illustrator: https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/system-requirements.html
Photoshop: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/system-requirements.html
InDesign: https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/system-requirements.html
Feel free to reach out if you have more questions or need assistance. We'd be happy to help.
Thanks,
Anubhav
