Our graphics department for our custom printing business uses several javascript programs for Illustrator to help automate and process files to create proofs, send acknowledgments, etc. We had a consultant we used previously but they have discontinued their consulting business and are not able to help us anymore. Does anyone know of any companies or consultants they have used and would highly recommend for this type of work? Thanks!

Being an automation consultant myself I cannot offer a specific recommendation beyond the obvious, but here are some known community names:
That’s just off the top of my head; there will be more, I’m sure. I’m certainly available for remote consulting; you would have to ask the others their status.
Are you looking for ongoing maintenance and/or new development? If you have a new project coming up, you might consider posting a brief in a separate thread and see who responds.

Thank you, Carlos, I appreciate your response and suggestions. I'm going to have the graphics team put together a discription of what the programs currently do and then also scope out the changes they would like to have made. It will probably be a combination of program updates/maintenance as well as new project development.

Thank you so much for your response. This is very helpful. I really appreciate all the great community response. I have some additional work to do my end but this is great to know there are several potential resources available. I think we will be looking for some ongoing maintenance as well as potentially new development as well. The scripts they current use were originally developed by someone who worked for the company a long time ago in Apple Script. I would say they had stronger graphics skills than development skills. They eventually had someone come in and do a rewrite so it was Javascript. I think even beyond the changes they are looking for, I might want to have someone evaluate the overall architecture and design of how the scripts are set up.

Some more I'd recommend:
And if you sometimes have a good mind to enjoy a bumpy action, you may ask me as well.

Thanks, Kirk, I appreciate it as I mentioned above, I need to work with my team to have them better define what they need and are looking for.
