Create Outline Normal Behavior?

Not sure if this is normal behavior for Text/Create Outlines?

I am creating Wire Frames to the  text

After adding Text I should be able to go in Text/Create Outlines.

However, Create Outlines is dimmed out.

Once the text box is scaled down to only encapsulate the text does it return. I have also tried just typing in the text box and same result. Only after stretching out the box does it become active.

I don't think I understand what you are doing.

You have to select the text object with the selection tool in order to outline text. Is that the case?

ALso: if Outline text does not work how about Object > Flatten transparency (check Outline text)?

Yes, the text is selected when it is attempting to Create Outline. 

Flatten Transparency/"Create All Text to Outline" works.

Good to hear.

If this is happening repeatedly in other documents and after rebooting the computer, probably report it as a bug.
