It looks like the latest update to Illustrator has removed the file path outlined in this document:
https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/recover-files-after-crash.html
Adobe\Adobe Illustrator <version> Settings\<locale>\x64\DataRecovery
The "Adobe Illustrator <version>" folder no longer exists at this location. Instead, there are version number folders within a folder Named "Adobe Illsutrator".
Since my lasy update I think this has caused Illustrator to default to my desktop for Data Recovery and then gives me a "Data Recovery Disabled" message. Has anyone else had this issue? How do I fix it?

Hello @mark_8069,
Could you share more details, like the version of the OS/Illustrator installed, along with a small screen recording of your settings and the workflow, so we can better assist you?
Also, try running Illustrator under a different administrator account (Windows / macOS) and share your observations.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Looks like the old reinstall did the trick! Completly deleted Acrobat and then changed the location of the Data Recovery folder and the error dod not come back today!

Did you set a new folder in the preferences:

I have not seen this error with a regular version of Illustrator, which one do you use?

@Ton Frederiks , I don't think you were responding to me since you mentioned "error" but I'm on 29.5.1.
I did have the error but haven't seen it lately.

@Dave Creamer of IDEAS I saw it today in a prerelease version.

Odd--I don't have any prerelease or beta versions currently installed. Just the standard updates. My last update was 16 days ago. Are you located in the USA? Perhaps we are the guinea pigs this time around!

No I am located in Europe. Never saw this until this week in a Prerelease version (already mentioned the problem to the team).
