"My printer is 6 color" - I don't know this printer, but it sounds like there is some emulation algorithm working on your FOUR color doc to make it into SIX colors...

Can you ask it to print ONLY in four color cmyk?

Also I'm not sure it's poscript compatible, I was reading on one website www.printfab.net "...PrintFab Pro also offers the CMYK proof mode to print CMYK PDF and Postscript documents with accurate colors"

If this prints the same file (that you are having problems with in Illy) perfectly

How are you printing? Is it the Print dialogue from Illustrator or by dropping a PDF on a RIP?

I am not sure if it is the blur that dissapears, if could be a colour shift because you have different settings for raster and vector colour management. Transparency like gausian blur will make the area under it raster wen you print.

I can think of two things that may affect this. Firstly gauseian blurr is connected to resolution so if there is a change in resolution it is not that the gausian blur dissapears, but becomes less. If you change the raster effects resolution from 72ppi to 300 PPI then your gausian blur will be 1/4 the size of what you expect.

It could also be the if flattening or overprint is not working as it should, this is especially common if you are using spot colours. There should be a checkbox to "simulate overprint" in the print dialog box.

More information on your printer would be helpful.

Is your doc in rgb? Is your printer rgb or cmyk? Is it a postscript printer?

If this prints the same file (that you are having problems with in Illy) perfectly out of Acrobat then you don't have a postscript printer, so printing from Illy is not an optimal solution.
