Disable Compression Upon Saving

I'm trying to permanetly turn off the "use compression' option while saving. Once I uncheck the box it saves that setting until I reopen the program and it rechecks itself, I was hoping to permanently disable that option. I can't seem to find it under preferences.

Why do you want to turn that off?

It is not destructive, it just makes the file smaller.

I design in AI and then import into another program for final excution of my product and that program does not like the newer AI files, the only fix I have found for that is turning off compression. I'll need compression turned off for 95% of my files, its easier for me to toggle it on for the 5%.

Try to record an action with compression off.

I recorded an action with save as..., turned off compression.

That works when played to files (I recorded a similar action with compression on to check it).

Thank you for the suggestion! I will use that when saving bulk files to the same location.
