I need to give a copy of the font I have used so my university lecturer can view it once my work is submitted. will it show up if even the lecturer doesn't have the same font downloaded on to her illustrator?

If you want to test what will happen when your instructor gets the file, go into Manage Fonts from the Creative Cloud app and unsync the fonts you are using. Then open your Illustrator file. You should get an alert to sync the fonts and you will click okay. This is what will happen when your instructor gets the file.

You can’t send or package Adobe Fonts (formerly Typekit), The recipient has to sync them.

You may not give away a font as this is a violation of the license.

If the lecturer opens the ai file in Adobe Acrobat he will not need the font.

If he places the ai file into InDesign, he will not need the font.

If you save the file as PDF he will neither need the font, he can open it in any PDF viewer.

He will only need the font, if he needs to edit the file. Then he has to buy a license.

Here is the Help file from Adobe to package files for handoff:

Ursula,

As Jane saw with her second sight, there is no issue because your lecturer has what you have.

Why not send a PDF?

Because as a lecturer you will need to check the file itself in order to come up with a grade.

Yes, I thought about that just after I send the reply.
