Drafting Tools in Illustrator

Hi,
There is this new dimension tool and it is cool but it took Illustrator decades to add something I have been manually doing forever - drawing dimension lines in illustrator is a smidge better than actually doing it on paper with a ruler.
How about other drafting tools that are currently available as plug-ins for purchase by 3rd party companies. It is a shame I have to still use Rhino to create line drawings with ease and then import in AI. They are making such a fuss with this dimension tool that is not even dynamically driven - changing the size of the object won't update the dimension, it is impossible to update the value of the dimension and automatically update the size of the object. You did not invent sliced bread yet – don’t hurry Adobe, we are still paying.
It is really disappointing (and expensive)
