Anyone who sets up large format artwork for print, knows this message. Why is this still a thing? Is there not a simple way to make the drawing area bigger?

So often we're fitting artwork into a template, and even though artwork is clipped, we still are fighting the expensive software to do a basic task.

has anyone found a work around for this bug or differnt large format print software?

The limitation exists, so that Illustrator can work at all with large artboards.

Did you try and create a Large Format document? It can be 60 meters wide and high.
