Dublicate layer name problem

As i Dublicate my layers, I'm getting these super long auto names. I wished it would add just copy, copy1, copy 2 or somthing!   help!!! how can I fix this? it's supper annoying!

Never seen that before. I tried duplicating a layer with the same name, and just get '_350cm_ copy'. Does it happen in all files or just this one? Can you share an example file?

How are you duplicating the layers? Using a script?
