DXF File defining points

New Here ,
Jul 26, 2021 Jul 26, 2021

I have a dxf file which has too many anchor points. It makes it very difficult for the laser cutting company to laser cut the metal. I tried to simplify the image to reduce the anchor point, however, when I try to open up the image with Fusion 360, it cannot define some anchor points. Illustrator removes some anchor points when I use simplify.  What I am trying to do is reducing the anchor points to define the object since it is easier for the laser cut machine to cut the metal if there are less defining points, at the same time, I want to keep the necessary defining points such as 'T' corners in the image so that it can be laser cutted. I would appreciate a lot if someone could help me with this issue. Thank you so much...anchor point.PNGfusion capture.PNG

You may need to buy Astute Graphics vector tools. They have a smart point removal tool in there. Other than that your artwork looks like you used Bezier paths all the way and not actual polylines, which makes a huge difference in DXF/ DWG. You may need to separate your paths in Fusion or AutoCAD to be able to convert the line types of the straight segments at least to avoid such dense exports.

Hi Mylenium,

I have been working for 2 months to fix this issue however I couldn't find a solution for a very long time. I have tried Astute Graphics and I tried super smart remove points and rejoin paths, and Fusion could define the object. I can't thank you enough. Many thanks,
