Edit after blend

I have not used the blend tool very much so I'm not real familar with it.  Can someone tell me how to make a blended image more editable after the blend?  In the screenshot, this is made up of 8 images together but as you can see the images get more distorted as I try and move them around.  How can I manage these images and keep them their original shape?

Expanding was what I needed!   I just needed to transform the shapes so that I could resize and edit them without distortion.  Expanding worked.  I also made a brush like you said and got some good branches made like that.

The blend tool will have 3 options. 

You can select the blen and Edit it as well as recreate it. As long as you not expanding it it is staying as a blend.

The image you show us might be good to creat a brush! 

You can create a Scatter brush or Pattern brushs using the shape you created .
