Hi guys, I need to edit my text to make the internal area joined, as I am cutting this out on a cnc machine. For example, I have attached a picture of the letter e, and have another photo of what I want to achieve.

I have converted the text to outlines, and I now need to edit the outline and make it 'bridged' to the centre.

I want it to follow the current lines so it's smooth.

im new to this so hopefully this makes sense.
Any help would be appreciated.

I know how to do this with straight lines, however I want it to follow the current curves, which is what I am unable to do

Easiest to do this if your letter is constructed of ellipses, then use shape builder (Shift + M) to add/subtract the final shape:

Thanks for responding. However I did not make this text, it was a font which I converted to outlines. Is there a way to edit the text and get a similar result?

If you can overlay circles precisely enough, you can use shape builder as described above. But it might be tricky if the 'e' is not composed of circles:

Another thought about finishing the curve on the inside of the 'e' -- copy these segments, then use the Join tool to draw between the endpoints:

Thanks again for responding. This looks like it will do what I need. Probably a silly question, but what are these pink lines and how do I get those. As I said I'm new to this so need basic help.

thanks again

The pink lines are extra circles possible drawn with the ellipse tool.
