Hi all,
I've just updated Illustrator to version 29.0 and encountered an error when exporting images for print. The exported image size increases by about 60%–80% from the original, but this only happens with CMYK color mode.
Has anyone else experienced this issue or found a solution?
Thanks!

I haven’t come across similar cases before. Could you confirm if you selected 72 PPI and checked “Use Artboards” while exporting? That should help retain the original image size.
If the issue persists, please share your .AI file and the exported image via Google Drive or a similar service. We’ll take a look and try to understand why this is happening.

For my standard printing, I always select 150 PPI for sublimation and make sure to check "Use Artboard".

I also found a new issue in version 29—when saving a file, it results in a larger file size compared to version 28.
Thanks for your help!

Thanks for sharing the file, @Janice31147844a81r.
Since you mentioned encountering issues when exporting PDF files for print, could you share more details about the problem? Understanding what’s happening with your PDF exports might help us find a better solution.
Regarding image exports, increasing the PPI will naturally increase both the resolution and file size, which is expected. If you want to maintain the original resolution and a smaller file size, you have to export at 72 PPI.
Also, please update to Illustrator 29.3.1 and try exporting PDF files for print again. If the problem continues, please share your observations.
Best,
Anshul Saini

Why do you export them as images and not sending a PDF into print?

We encountered some errors when exporting PDF files for print, so for now, we are only using images.
