Please post your question in the Illustrator forum. As far as I can see on that very tiny image, this is not meant for the Captivate forum. I can move it for you, but want to get your permission, because I can be wrong with my suspicion about this being an Illustrator question.

I believe there is at least one gap between your paths.
You can carefully close the gap(s) by moving the relevant Anchor Point(s) to snap to the other path.
Or maybe you can cheat with the Shape Builder by using gap detedtion.
