Every Select > Same options grayed out (AI 2026, MAC)

Community Beginner ,
Oct 28, 2025 Oct 28, 2025

Hello,

I recently got a new 2024 Macbook pro 16" base model, and have downloaded Creative Cloud with Rosetta and then downloaded AI 2026 through CC.

I have exported various circles of different stroke colors from Rhino to Illustrator. I am trying to change similar stroke types as I have many times before on my previous computer with no luck (Select > Same).

I have created an entire new file and created different rectangles of the same stroke and attempted to Select > Same.

In both instances the entire Select > Same menu is completely grayed out (see images attached).Screenshot 2025-10-28 at 8.41.29 PM.pngScreenshot 2025-10-28 at 8.42.00 PM.png

Hi @GeneralServe,

Thanks for reaching out and sharing the details. Adding to the expert request, could you please confirm which macOS version you're using and whether Illustrator is running through Rosetta? Also, let me know if this happens only with a specific file or across all files. If it's occurring in all files, please try manually resetting Illustrator preferences, then relaunch the app and check if the issue persists. Ref: https://adobe.ly/47uPMzz.

Looking forward to your update.

I'm seeing the same behavior  here. M1 MacBook Pro, OS 26 Tahoe. I've tried multiple files, to no avail. I also tried starting anew new file and putting a few basic shapes on the artboard, still grayed out.

Hello all,

To respond to the various comments on this thread

I am running:

Apple M4 Pro Chip

Tahoe 26.0.1

I am not running illustrator on Rosetta, I am running on Apple Silicon.

Not sure if this was the specific fix, but I reset my preferences to help fix other issues and I haven't had this problem since.

I'm having the same problem. All of these are greyed out (inactive). This is something I do a lot, so it's a real problem for me. I'm running a Mac, M1 Max processor, Tahoe 26.0.1.
