Expand & Uncheck Stroke

In this video Expand & Uncheck Stroke is adding 3 more layers in layer panel & make all 5 layers as a group. Also added 3 more new layers represent strokes as well. But why stroke is unchecked in the expand window? File is attached

Because when I replicated the work whether I unchcked the stroke or not result is same.

There was no need for them to uncheck the stroke checkbox as it doesn't apply to the blend graphic they had created. This is why you get the same result no matter if the box is checked or not. They probably did it out of habit or didn't understand how expand works with blend objects. If you use Object > Blend > Expand, you will notice there are no options, each step object in the blend is expanded as a whole.

I don't think it makes a lot of sense to make a tutorial about Expand and Magic wand.

That tutorial is bad anyway. THere are a gazillion anchors when using the shapebuilder tool, which is bad pratice.

Why does that even matter to you? Just keep what you want and delete what you don't.

In this case I stuck with expand tool and confused with Magic Wand tool. It is better to upload a tutorial using these two tools inclusive.

If you want to better understand how expand works, following the same tutorial, if you run Object > Expand a second time and check to expand strokes, you will see where each fill and each stroke becomes a separate object.
