export measurements

I am trying (with no luck) to find away to "export" vector measurements. What I would like to be able to do is, slect a vector object, then "export/copy" the measurements (length and width) to my clipboard so I can paste into a document. I have to send art measurements a lot and copy and pateing each deminsion is getting old.......fast.
