exporting ArcGIS file into Illustrator

Good evening ppl! 

I am using my university account that I used just 2days ago to export my map files to AI. today I am unable to exicute the same function... when I ck the drop dwn file box I only have the option to export as an AIX when save this file to my folder and try to open in Illustrator the file is not reconized... any ideas? Best to ya, an thanks!!!

You have to have the ArcGIS plugin installed to open AIX formats:
