Hi, can somebody help me? everytime i free distort, my anchor resets and it says "object expanded"
A rectangle is a live shape. As soon as you distort it, it's no longer a rectangle and needs to be expanded to a simple path.
originally i wanted to make this
saw a youtube tutorial and they said free distort the grid, the video clearly has anchor points following the shape of the object, but how come mines not? exact thing happening like this
What version of Illustrator are you using?
Pre-version 24.1, the bounding box will not follow the shape when using the free transform tool.
2017, idk how to see the version, my pc couldnt handle the newest one
The 2017 release was Version 21.

Monika could probably come up with a way with a single anchor point.
This one could be built using the perspective grid.
Looks like what happens when you move an anchor point, your object is not a rectangle shape anymore.
