Hi,

Is it possible to use a Freeform Gradient on 2 shapes joined as a compound path?

It obviously works with normal colour accros a compound path but I can't seem to find a work around for the freeform gradient.

One workaround I've used for that:

  • Draw out a third object (on a layer behind) large enough to surround the 2-shape compound path
  • Apply the freeform gradient to the third object, and edit relative to the 2-shape compound path, visible in front
  • Select all and apply the 2-shape compound path as a clipping mask on the third object
