Good example plugins?

Hi

Just starting out in this plugin game!
I am also fairly new to C++, although I did a lot of C when I was younger, then moved onto Java and more recently C#.

Does anyone know of any good and very well commented open source projects or more comprehensive example plugins than the ones that come with the SDK?

I am initially looking to create random paths/shapes in a controlled manner. Been playing with the Tutorial plugin, currently having trouble applying a style to the path.
