I'm creating a simple large print project (240" x 100") and i'm only using a vector abstract background with text and a logo.  When I save as a .pdf for print the text and logo are perfect but the background is pixelated.  I've searched the internet for hours and cannot figure this out.  I'm using the latest version of Illustrator 29. something.

Can you show your project with the element that pixellates selected and visible in the layers panel?

At that size you are using a Large Canvas document. That is known to have issues with resampling images when saving as PDF. Do you have some raster effects applied to the background?

If you save as PDF, can you set the compatibility to PDF 1.7 and make sure that for Compression, Downsampling is turned off?

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
