IS THERE A WAY I CAN FIND THE ORIGINAL FILE SOMEWHERE

This is a question of your OS and/or the versioning and backup features of your save location if you use network or online backup systems, rather than Illustrator. Where was the file saved? Do you use Time Machine on Mac or a Windows equivalent? Do you use OneDrive, Google Drive or Dropbox etc.?
