Hi there

I am trying to create a logo for my small business. I found a great design I liked off of Stock and imported it into Illustrator.

The font is set to EB Garamond ExtraBold, and it seems like I any time I try to move, edit, or create an outline to make it a shape, it automatically resets back to EB Garamond ExtraBold. I want to use Omnes Black Italic, which is a font I found on Stock and imported to Illustrator. It's wasn's saved in the regular list of fonts in the Fonts drop down menu, it's found in the "Find Other" Fonts menu. When I go and select the font with the Text tool and change it to Omnes Black Italic, the name does not show up in the Fonts name bar. Strange. My best guess is that because it's an imported font, it was automatically saved only on Creative Cloud (it has the little cloud next to it sans the download arrow), which may mean that it isn't "registered" or "verified" (for lack of better words)?

Very frustrated, confused, and just want to turn my Omnes Black Italic logo into a shape so I can add a 3D effect to it so it can look more round!

Thanks in advance!

It's extremely frustrating!

So there is actually live text in the artwork you have?

And the Omnes font - wat kind of file was it? an OTF? Or a TTF? How did you install it?

How do you activate fonts? Do you use a font manager?

When was the last time you rebooted the computer?

Text in vector clip art almost always is not editable. How you can tell if it is and what you need to do. About this channel: My name is Monika Gause and on this channel I'll be showing tipps and tricks on Adobe Illustrator and other graphics applications. For more than 10 years I've been writing
