HELP shortcut is no longer appearing!

In Illustrator, when I selected text it came up with shortcuts such as area type or outline text. This is now no longer popping up when I select text, can somebody help?

you have to select it with the selection tool and also the bounding box has to be on

Check if you've turned on Contextual Task Bar in the Window menu .
