Hey everyone i am designing a pouch for dog treats on illustratot, and i need to make a little transparent window for the treats to be visible through. I cant find any tutorials on how to get that done. If anyone can help please let me know.
Pouches are printed on transparent mylar substrate. You need to create SPOT WHITE ink color in swatches, and then design a white plate on layer and overprint all your artwork so that it separates in separations preview. You usually want to keep a window in the lower half of a stand-up pouch, as if rides too high the window could show where there is no product. If you are designing something that goes to final print, that should be done by a professional who has experience in that, There are certain pet food regulations by the AAFCO that need to be followed. If the packaging is in violation, then the product can be recalled and the manufacturer could come after you for the cost of reprinting and legal fees.
