Hello,

We are working with a consultant who is exporting jpgs of illustrated maps from Illustrator files. We have placed the jpgs into an InDesign document, which is very large (200+ pages). The jpgs we have are too low quality/file size to come out clearly. We want to increase the quality without making the InDesign pdf too large. Currently, when the InDesign pdf is exported at smallest file size, it is 20mb. We need it to be 50mb or less, but with higher quality jpg images. What settings should we suggest for the consultant export the jpgs? Thank you!

You will have to try that out yourself and balance quality against filesize.

You probably want high quality placed into Illustrator, because you can then degrade the quality. Getting a higher quality out of bad images is not possible.
