As mentioned, if you are not seeing it in the Glyphs panel for the font you are using, chances are the font designer didn't bother to include them. This is pretty common for "cheap"/"free" fonts you find online or some very decorative display fonts.

Professional fonts should have them.

If you are on a Mac, you can simply type option-`(it's with the tilde key to the left of "1" on your keyboord) then type the letter you want (eg option-tilde e for "è")
