You do not have permission to do that. If you want to send fonts you'd need to buy a copy to gift to the printer.

Alternatively, work with a printer who has Typekit.

If the printer has Illustrator CC he also has access to the Typekit fonts

That's what you would think. I work with a manufacturer in China (I design for sports apparel) the backs, Names and Numbers remain live text so that the roster can easily be batched in. HOWEVER, when I forget and use typekit... I have font issues. Now, I've asked, this lady says she's using Illustrator CC... and she most certainly does NOT have access to the typekit fonts. (I've gone round and round with her) So either stuff is way different in China with the program and how things are licensed, she doesn't know, or she's being disengenuous. Whatever the outcome, Adobe fonts are a thorn in my side.

This whole typekit thing is less than functional. I have to actively avoid using Adobe Fonts as it is a consistant issue. I wish they would find a better solution than "find a printer who has typekit,"  because depending on what you are doing it isn't always an option.

One possible reason is that she is using a pirated copy of Illustrator, as a paid subscription includes Adobe Fonts.

For clarity because this is an old thread, Typekit became Adobe Fonts in 2018.

Or send a PDF (fonts will be embedded), unless the printer needs to modify your Illustrator file.

Yes, I know, but old habits die hard!! Still the same old problem though. The manufacturer who is making a building sign for me , will be laser cutting lettering and needs to use the font for this job only. So regrettably, it is not my printer, who has access to fonts

Which is a good idea anyway, because you don't even know if they will use the same version of Illustrator to make the sign. So with live type you would risk a lot.

In this situation, you might make a copy first to keep the text live, and then Outline the fonts.
